Chocolate Magnesium Shake

This is a great recipe if you are trying to give up coffee as there is still caffeine in the cacao plus you need a bit of calming magnesium to get you started for the day. For this, you will need bananas already frozen (peel them before freezing and store them in snap lock bags for easy use).

This also includes your requirements for selenium for the day in the Brazil nuts, so make sure you are not taking more of it in supplement form. If you are simply omit them from this recipe.

 

Healthy Chocolate Shake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold filtered water
  • 1/4 cup raw nuts of choice
  • 2 Brazil nuts
  • 3 pitted dates
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon Maca Powder
  • 1 frozen banana
  • Mint is an optional extra if you are a lover of Choc-Mint!

 

Method

  • Blend the water, nuts and dates until smooth in a high-powered blender.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and continue to blend.
  • Add more water if you prefer a thinner shake
  • Add more frozen bananas if you prefer a thick shake.

 

Another way of using this recipe is to turn it into the ultimate dessert smoothie bowl by topping it with your favorite bits and pieces!
